Aphria Inc. (TSX: APH) (OTC: APHQF) announced this morning that the company has received a license amendment from Health Canada that will provide Aphria with an additional 200,000 square feet of cannabis grow space, which will allow the company to complete Part III expansion of its facility in Leamington, Ontario.
The expansion of the Leamington facility triples the Aphria’s production capacity of medical grade cannabis from 9,000 kg annually to 30,000 kg annually.
When Aphria completely expands the facility in Ontario, the company will have over 1,000,000 sq. ft. of production space to grow cannabis at their disposal. Along with their partnerships with Broken Coast Cannabis and Double Diamond Farms, Aphria is anticipating their production capacity to become over 230,00 kg a year.
Aphria is ramping up production ahead of the expected legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada this year, as well, as to expand to international markets.
