Canopy Growth Corporation (TSX: WEED) announced this morning that the company is expected to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) this morning under the ticker symbol “CGC”. Canopy Growth will be up listing its common shares from the OTC Pink to the New York Stock Exchange and will continue to be listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) in Canada under the ticker symbol “WEED”.
This is substantial move for Canopy Growth Corporation, which is one of the top public companies in the cannabis sector today. The company currently has operations running on multiple continents including North America, Europe, Australia, and South America. It is also one of the largest cultivators and exporters of medicinal grade cannabis in the world with a total of 2.4 million sq. ft. of current grow space. The company has expectations to double its cultivation space with the upcoming legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada this summer.
With the continuance of political accepted of a recreational cannabis industry across the country, Canopy could be positioning itself to begin the setup of operations in the U.S.
