The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings Ltd. (TSX:TGOD) (OTCQX:TGODF) has entered into a strategic alliance with vertically integrated Jamaican cannabis company Epican Medicinals Ltd. to construct a 125,000 sq. ft. cultivation facility in Jamaica.
When the proper licenses for the new state-of-the-art facility have been gained the partners plan to supply medicinal organic cannabis to the local Jamaican and other international markets. The companies will work with Eco-cert in order to gain the organic certification within the country.
Epican owns operations in Jamaica with established licenses involved in cultivation, extraction, manufacturing, and retail distribution. Epican’s extraction facility, located in Blue Mountain, has been built out to meet qualifications
of GMP standards and expects to distribute
a number of different cannabinoid based
products including dried herb, oils, tinctures,
and their own unique formulations for its future network of retail dispensaries.
In conjunction with the agreement, The Organic Green Dutchman entered into a binding agreement with Epican to acquire 49.18% interest in the company.
Csaba Reider, TGOD’s president, gave this statement in the press release:
“This is the first example of how we can partner with and introduce companies like CBx Technologies and Stillwater Brands to foreign jurisdictions. Through the development of GMP compliant, state-of-the-art extraction labs, TGOD will begin manufacturing these proven brands in international jurisdictions as regulations permit.”
