Tilray, wholly owned subsidiary of Privateer Holdings, has announced a partnership with one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Canada called Sandoz Canada.
Under the terms of the signed agreement, Tilray will gain exclusive rights to supply Sandoz Canada with non-combustible cannabis based medicines such as topicals and oral sprays. Sandoz Canada will distribute product through their network of pharmacists, physicians, and patients across Canada.
Widening acknowledgment of cannabis products and its medicinal benefits is now prevalent in Canada. According to a report in September 2017 Health Canada, there are 235,621 registered medical marijuana in Canada. Tilray plans to develop new products for Sandoz Canada, which the company will then leverage to educate pharmacists and the public about the benefits of cannabis.
